Hello,

Our friendly butcher took three of our chooks away today, their time had come for chook heaven, their egg laying days far behind them. Our butcher assured us that they would make an excellent stew.

Bob showed us how to hypnotise the chooks, telling us that the chooks once hypnotised would lie still all day unless disturbed. Amazing. We are going to show the kids tomorrow, treating the chooks with the utmost respect of course. Their eggs are far too delicious.

I wonder if we humans become hypnotised as easily. Lured into consuming from an early age, our minds programmed to buy our happiness rather than find it within ourselves.

this evening we had some dear friends over for dinner. Had an outside fire, some yummy food, the best carrot cake in the world for desert (thank you Jamie Oliver) and many laughs.

Sometimes we expect that entertainment has to be busy, loud and bright. I think our spiritual component misses out when this form of entertainment happens.

We love walking through a forest, exploring an empty beach, watching the sunset.

What are we teaching our children when we live our lives so busily, forgetting to take the time for our heart and spirit.

In silence there lives so many answers to our questions, light to our darkness and love for our confusion.

Hello,

Today Gabrielle and I chased three chooks around our yard, the escapees incredibly agile, each of us barely able to keep our mirth contained.

Chasing chooks, leads to this overwhelming feel of merriment. We would have failed as cave man and woman, in regards to feeding ourselves and our family.

A few weeks ago we lost our very beautiful rooster and one of our girls to wild dogs or a dingo or a fox. Four days ago we introduced three new girls into the pecking order and a five month old rooster we found in the local paper.

The older girls have not given an inch, jumping on the rooster and pecking him mercilessly, harassing the new girls at every opportunity. Its not uncommon to find the new girls with their head's in the soil, bums up in the air, hiding. While the rooster squeezes himself into a small laying box rather than face the older girls.

We Humans do the same. We battle so hard, struggle for so long, carry our story with such possessiveness, when the solution can be as simple as allowing or letting go.

But, but, but we say. There is no but.

Only the reality of the NOW, our NOW.

How long have you been chasing? How many years have you been running around and around?

Hello,

We had our first day of sunshine yesterday. We also woke up with thirteen degree temperatures, reminding us that winter is coming.

Because it was the first day in many weeks of sunshine I decided to wash our beautiful car. While I was washing I wondered how many other people in the world where washing their car at the same time?

Sixty million, one hundred thousand, twenty seven? I'm sure there would be some mathematical formula to estimate how many.

I listened to Eckhart Tolle yesterday as well, Eckhart made reference to our minds and inner space when we find ourselves stuck in traffic, performing a mundane task, caught within the web of our existence.

Eckhart suggested that we sit quietly within the NOW of that moment - feeling angry that you are stuck in traffic ... mmmm, anger how interesting, why do I have to wash the stupid car .... mmmm, feeling stupid, how interesting.

We are our own best barometers, how you feel is how you are, what you are vibrating at, what you are creating.

we went to Lake Baroon this afternoon, total tranquillity.

Our planet is truly awesome.

I read 'Into the Wild' by Jon Krakauer, Jon made reference to the fact that people who live off the land see the land as food, shelter, water, threats, etc. People who live with these provided see the land (Mother Earth) as beauty and splendour.

Watching the 200 degree sunset this afternoon, with only the gentlest of ripples caressing the waters, we are firmly in love with our surroundings.

Hello,

Our cat spent twenty minutes chasing his tail today, intently absorbed in this long black wiggly appendage, each moment a perfect NOW.

Gabrielle sometimes asks me if I ever get sick of house work, to please tell her.

When I vacuum I exist in the NOW, completely absorbed in the exciting task of sucking up the households refuse. Complete satisfaction.

I wonder how our lives would change if we existed in the NOW -mostly- instead of being mired in the worries of the past and future.

Practice today, become conscious of your thoughts and emotions. Both are slippery buggers, you will be surprised how quickly your mind and heart fall out of the NOW.

Hello,

Gabrielle and I have created the space within our beautiful home for a cat, a Siamese Seal Point. The family is totally besotted, we could not have asked for any creature more perfect. Affectionate, loyal, playful, loving, able to withstand the sometimes over bearing administrations of our daughter, all the nice aspects of cats.

Gabrielle had a girlfriend visit the other day, Saber dutifully leapt onto her lap and proceeded to sit quietly, watching, purring, existing perfectly in the NOW.

To us Saber is wonderful, intelligent, and all that I have described. To Gabrielle's friend he is just a cat, to most people he would be just a cat. Unless you happened to be a cat lover, or animal lover, he is just a cat.

I have noticed that over the years with parents and children. Inevitably parents rave about their children, little Johnny learnt Russian by the time he was 2 years old, my little Katie is the brightest child I have ever known, did I tell you how fast Sarah was in the school carnival, Gold medal material for sure.

To the parent their child is the best, the fastest, the most beautiful.

By observing and living with someone or something, we see characteristics that are seldom picked up when we first meet that animal or child or special interest.

Your Taxi driver may be just a taxi driver, your neighbours dog just a noisy mutt, your friends child precocious and very spoilt, your husband a slob, your job just a job and so on.

If we choose to look at a situation differently we see so much more. Gabrielle talks in her book 'The Peacemaker's Way' how we each wear different coloured contact lenses. One person may wear green coloured contact lenses, they will only see green, green is the truth for them. Another will see the same situation through their pink lenses and think what they see is right.

You can change your contacts, you can make a choice to see your life or the life of those around you from a different perspective. When you next look upon a cat, a tree, your taxi driver think about what you are seeing, what you want to see, what you can see.

Hello,

Gabrielle decided seven days ago over breakfast to go on a 14 day water fast. No food, no tea, no nibbles, nothing for 14 days.

Now on day seven, Gabrielle is quite possibly the most amazing person in my entire world, truly. I know I am swayed because I love her beyond all time and space and that our destiny was beautifully ordained by powers far beyond our comprehension. I do know a super hero when I see one and Gabrielle would fit that role.

Once Gabrielle made up her mind, made a choice, then the days have disappeared with Gabrielle's resolve stronger each day that passes.

Sometimes strength of character can come from personal destiny choice and not just the outside influences that shape us.

We spend our lives wanting and asking for more. That's natural human development I think. Attempting to improve upon our surroundings, our situation, looking for ways to make our life 'better'.

Of course always wanting and looking for the next best thing can be quite an empty existence. We never are quite satisfied, never quite happy with what we have. Like eating chocolate, you want it desperately, you eat it quickly, its gone and you think about the next time you can have chocolate not enjoying the fact that you just had some.

Who is in charge of your life? Chocolate? Maybe.

Instead of wanting from the Universe, always thinking about future needs, pause for a moment and be quiet in the space you are in. Do you have any needs within this quiet place? I don't think so.

What can you do to support your life's purpose? Asking the question 'why am I here?' Will only bring wanting.

Asking 'Ok, I'm here, I'm existing, what can I do to support my life purpose, Source Energy has placed me perfectly within my existence, how can I serve this?

We went for a ride through the forest this afternoon, beautiful autumn sunshine displaying a vast variety of life, colour, shape, and texture after many months of rain. Spiders have become prolific, no doubt feasting off the abundant insect life that comes with monsoon rain.

I love riding, all your senses are stimulated. Drive a car, you are immersing yourself in a cocoon. Ride a bike and feel the world around you. Walking brings this silence even closer.

Eckhart Tolle suggests that within this silence is our true self, our universal being. After a ride like this afternoon, I tend to agree.

Eckhart Tolle is an amazing man. I was watching a web teleclass today with Oprah presenting Eckharts new book 'A New earth', with millions of viewers watching intently from hundreds of countries. How fantastic.
